Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library VisitWednesday Evening ActivityWednesday, April 28, 2010
Winterthur, an American country estate, is the former home of Henry Francis du Pont (1880-1969), an avid antiques collector and horticulturist. In the early 20th century, H. F. du Pont and his father, Henry Algernon du Pont, designed Winterthur in the spirit of 18th- and19th-century European country houses. Discover the museum's magnificent collection of American antiques celebrating the best in style and craftsmanship.
4:00PM
After training on Wednesday, there will be an opportunity for attendees to take a memorable tram ride through the beautiful 60+ acre naturalistic gardens at Winterthur, as well as experience a guided tour of some of the museum rooms. Also, we are invited to take a look at the changing exhibition galleries and visit the library to see some of its treasures. The museum guides will be solely devoted to the VTLS group, and the trams will have a special staging area just for us. Approximately 6:00PM - 7:30PM
After Wednesday's look at Winterthur, there will be a conference welcome reception in the Museum Wing Rooms. |
